Dr Choi is one of those rare people who has a flair to inspire and keep you thinking and growing. I am very privileged to have had the opportunity to work with him for a couple of months after I had already completed 2 years of spine fellowships elsewhere. As such, I was able to fine tune my surgical and clinical skills, and also pick up higher level new skills. In particular, I have enjoyed learning biportal endoscopic spine surgery and anterior lumbar approaches.

Dr Choi is an innovator, always contemplating and discussing how and what we can do better for the patients. He has a knack for teaching, something that I aspire to achieve in due course. After a day in clinic or theatre with him, I would always hope I had some time to read up on something or the other that we had discussed during the day. In my current practice, not only have I been inspired to keep reading but also to keep pushing the boundaries to help my patients get what is best for them.

My time with Dr Choi has provided me with the skills and confidence to perform minimally invasive anterior lumbar fusion surgeries, endoscopic spine procedures, single position surgery, disc replacements and robotic assisted surgeries.

Outside of the amazing clinical time, I particularly enjoyed my stay in Mornington Peninsula. Dr Choi is also passionate about his life outside of work, including enjoying golf and good coffee. You will be well entertained!
